Introduction

Polish is one of the most challenging languages in the world! It’s often considered a language with complex grammar and demanding pronunciation. But don’t let that discourage you! Polish is also full of beautiful sounds and unique words that quickly stay in your memory. There’s also a lot of beautiful Polish music to explore.

Roughly speaking, the average Pole actively knows (uses while speaking) no more than several dozens of thousands of words, while passively (understands but doesn’t use) around 30 thousand words.

An increasing number of people are learning Polish as a foreign language. The estimated number is around 10,000 individuals worldwide, with approximately one-third of them studying Polish at universities and language schools in Poland. Additionally, Polish is one of the official languages of the European Union.

Polish, alongside Chinese, Hungarian, and Finnish, is one of the most difficult languages to learn in the world, but we have our ways to tackle it!
